Samantha Eden Oakey (1996-present) is a Florida-based visual artist and art educator. She grew up in Homestead and currently lives in Lake Mary. She cultivated her passion for art while attending Design & Architecture Senior High in Miami. She obtained an A.A. in Studio Art from Miami Dade College in 2015 and completed a B.F.A. in Studio Art with a Minor in Art History from Florida International University in 2017. Her work has been exhibited all over Florida, receiving an Academic Excellence in Art Award in 2015. Notable exhibitions include Art Basel’ish in Fort Lauderdale, ArtZ 305 South Dade Arts Festival, and North America’s largest pop-up art exhibition, Pancakes & Booze.

“My work explores identity, perception, spirituality, and humanity’s connection to nature. Blending traditional media and various styles, my pieces are alive and layered with vibrancy, expressing the beauty of the natural world, and the mystery of the mind. Intricate mark-making and forced perspectives bring the viewer into a more intimate communion with nature. My art invites viewers to experience a fluid yet constant state of awareness, where attention to detail meets the freedom of creative flow.
